 Bay Lake Tower is just a short walk away from the Magic Kingdom. It could be considered a sister resort to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, with the Skyway Bridge providing easy access between the two buildings. A Full Range of Accommodations

This resort includes nearly 300 units from studios to 3-bedroom grand villas. There are several different room types including views of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom. All of the units have standard amenities including a television, a telephone, free WiFi, a hairdryer, an in-room safe, a mini-refrigerator, and a coffee maker. Units with at least one bedroom also include a washer and dryer as well as a fully-equipped kitchen.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a variety of dining options available in the Contemporary Tower. In addition, there is easy access to dining options at other resorts including Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, as well as the Magic Kingdom.

California Grill

This signature dining experience is located on the top floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. With a menu inspired by Californian cooking and breathtaking views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom, this restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy an incredible meal. Currently, there is a special menu, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. Please note there is a dress code required for this signature dining experience.

California Grill Lounge

Enjoy a drink before or after your meal. You may also choose to dine in the lounge, space permitting.

Chef Mickey’s

Join Mickey and his friends for this all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast or dinner, located on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower. Watch as the monorail flies by overhead and wave to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto as they dance through the restaurant.

Contempo Cafe

This quick-service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a great view of the monorail and a variety of menu options.

Steakhouse 71

This family-friendly steakhouse is the newest addition to the resort hotel, named for the year Disney’s Contemporary Resort opened. With a design inspired by the 1970s and the state of Florida, this restaurant features a menu inspired by some of Walt Disney’s favorite dishes. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reservations are highly recommended.

Cove Bar

This private pool bar is reserved for guests staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney Vacation Club Members.

Outer Rim

This cozy lounge is the perfect spot to sip on a variety of specialty cocktails and other beverages, with beautiful views of Bay Lake.

The Sand Bar

Grab a bite to eat while sitting poolside with your choice of a variety of snacks and quick-service options. A full bar menu, as well as cocktails, beer, and sangria are also available.

Pools, Grounds, & Recreation

Pools

The feature pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the Bay Cove Pool. This pool includes zero-depth entry and overlooks Bay Lake. There is also a 148-foot-long waterslide. The kids will love the water play area with geysers squirting up in the air! This pool area is reserved specifically for guests staying at Bay Lake Tower and Disney Vacation Club members.

There are two more pools at Disney’s Contemporary Resort that are available to guests staying at Bay Lake Tower. The Main Pool has views of the marina and features a 17-foot high, 131-foot-long waterslide. There is a water play area and two whirlpool spas to relax in.

Guests are also encouraged to unwind and relax at the Bay Lake Pool. This leisure pool is round and shallow on the outside but deeper in the center.

Complimentary towels are provided at both pools.

Cabana Rentals

Enjoy a little added luxury as you relax in your own private cabana, located next to Bay Cove Pool. Each cabana rental includes:

Lakeside Yoga

Head to Lakeside Landing on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30 am for a complimentary Gentle Yoga class. This 30-minute class is the perfect way to get energized for your day with feel-good poses for all ages and skill levels. Mats and towels are provided on-site. Class space is limited to 15 guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Motorized Boat Rentals

Head to the Boat Nook Marina to rent a boat and cruise around Bay Lake. Rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis and guests must be 18 years of age or older and present a valid driver’s license, state-issued ID, or Military ID to rent a boat. Complimentary life jackets are required for all guests under 12 years of age.

Fishing

Enjoy a guided Bass Fishing Excursion, perfect for all ages and anglers. These 2-hour or 4-hour trips include:

  • An experienced guide
  • Rod and reel
  • Tackle
  • Artificial and/or live bait
  • Non-alcoholic beverages only

Fishing at the Walt Disney World Resort is catch-and-release only. Life jackets will be provided and are required for children ages 12 and under. Reservations are highly recommended and can be done by calling (407)939-FISH. Your travel advisor can also assist with this reservation.

Jogging Trails

Take a jog on the nearly 1-mile path that loops around Bay Lake Tower and the South Garden Wing of the Contemporary Resort.

Tennis

Hit the courts for a fun game of tennis! Complimentary racquets and balls are available at the Community Hall.

Volleyball

Enjoy a game of beach volleyball on the lakeside court. Volleyballs can be signed out at the Boat Nook Marina with a valid Resort ID.

Movies Under the Stars

Head to the lawn behind the Contemporary Tower to watch complimentary showings of your favorite Disney movies! Check with the front desk for a complete schedule.

Community Hall

At the Community Hall, enjoy ping-pong, video games, board games, and more. Community Hall at Bay Lake Tower is open from 10:00 am – 10:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Basketball Courts

There is a full-sized court waiting for you to start up a game! Basketballs are available to sign out from the Community Hall.

The Game Station

With a variety of games for all ages, there is something for everyone at this arcade. You can race cars, play your favorite sports, have a dance-off, and more. You can go head-to-head with a friend or family member or just try for your own high score. The arcade is located on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower.

Game cards must be purchased to play. Game points are added using cash or a credit card and the game cards are rechargeable. In addition, these game cards can be used at other Walt Disney World Resort arcades.

Contemporary Resort Campfire Activities

As the sun goes down, it’s the perfect time to gather around the campfire! There is plenty of family fun waiting as you listen to stories, complete with marshmallows for roasting.

How to get to each park:

While staying at Bay Lake Tower, you may be wondering how you can get to each park using the free transportation systems offered at Walt Disney World. We have it broken down for you:

  • Magic Kingdom: The monorail is available to take guests to the Magic Kingdom. It is also a short walk to the entrance of the park. There is a security checkpoint prior to entering so that guests may go straight to the turnstiles to enter.
  • EPCOT: The monorail is available to take guests to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then on to EPCOT. The monorail runs frequently, approximately every 20 minutes, until 1 hour after the park closes.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These buses run between the resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios approximately every 20 minutes, until 1 hour after the park closes.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after the park closes.
  • Disney Springs and Water Parks: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney Springs and the water parks nearly every 20 minutes from the resort. Buses typically run for an hour after Disney Springs or the water park close.

Parking

*Guests who drive either their own vehicle or a rental car to Walt Disney World should know that a standard overnight self-parking fee of $25 per night will be applied to the guest hotel folio upon check-out. Valet parking is available for $33 per night. Complimentary standard self-parking is available while you enjoy select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at this resort.
