Resort Overview

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort opened in 1998, as Walt Disney World’s first moderate resort. There was a massive refurbishment done in 2018, including the addition of the Disney Skyliner. The grounds are beautiful with vibrantly colored buildings and a relaxing tropical vibe. This resort is quite large and offers an internal bus system to navigate the grounds. There are six villages within the resort – Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad North, and Trinidad South.

A Full Range of Accommodations

This resort is very large and offers a variety of room categories to choose from. There are 1,536 rooms, with most measuring approximately 314 square feet. Each room includes a dresser, a small table with two chairs, a nightstand with a telephone, a flat-panel TV, a coffee maker, a double sink with a vanity area, and a tub with a shower. Most of the rooms include two queen beds or one king bed and some also include a pull-down bed that is suitable for a child under 10 years of age.

In addition, there are themed Pirate rooms at this resort. These rooms are decked out with pirate gear including a pirate ship bed, crates for a dresser, and a barrel as a nightstand. There is a pirate curtain between the bathroom and beds for privacy. These rooms are located in the Trinidad village of the resort.

Tip: To be close to the Disney Skyliner, you will want a standard view room and request either the Jamaica or Aruba villages. If you want to be close to Old Port Royale or the pool, consider a preferred room.

Pools, Grounds, & Recreation

Pools

The main pool at this resort, Fuentes del Morro Pool, is a zero-entry pool with a colonial Spanish fortress theme. There are two waterslides and a shipwreck play area for children. There is also a 12-person spa pool, which is the perfect place to relax with a refreshing drink!

There are also five leisure pools, one in each village. These pools offer a place to relax and lounge in the sun, with a calmer vibe.

Movies Under the Stars

After a day at the parks, enjoy complimentary movie screenings under the stars. These screenings are located at Caribbean Cay Island.

Fishing

Head out on a guided excursion to enjoy some catch-and-release fishing, leaving from Caribbean Cay Island.

Caribbean Beach Campfire Activities
