The groundbreaking new attraction found within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic promises to be Universal’s most impressive ride to date – blending massive, incredibly detailed environments, powerful storytelling, unprecedented ride technology, and so much more to take guests on an action-packed adventure to witness the trial of the infamous Dolores Umbridge.
Just like Hogwarts Castle in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and Gringotts Bank in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, the immense scale and awe-inspiring details within the British Ministry of Magic will amaze guests as they are immersed in yet another iconic location from the beloved Warner Bros. Pictures Harry Potter films. The journey through the typically restricted wizarding government building will take guests through the grand Ministry atrium, Dolores Umbridge’s office, other Ministry departments, and more before boarding magical, omnidirectional lifts to bring Dolores Umbridge to justice once and for all.

Métro-Floo Corridor
Guests will journey from wizarding Paris – the setting of the other exciting experiences inspired by the Fantastic Beasts films in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic – to the Ministry via the Métro-Floo – a unique mode of transportation inspired by the iconic Floo Network from the films. As they emerge from the fireplace-like structures they’ve seen in the films, guests will immediately find themselves in the lobby of the Ministry of Magic.
The Ministry of Magic Atrium
The jaw-dropping grand atrium of the Ministry of Magic comes to life in all its grandeur in the queue for the attraction. Here, guests will find a restored Fountain of Magical Brethren statue, the breathtaking enchanted weather ceiling, an endless array of Ministry offices from floor to ceiling and many more intricate details for guests to discover while inside. Guests will also discover that their visit falls on the same day that Dolores Umbridge will stand trial for her crimes against the wizarding world.
Ministry Reception
Guests will pass by the Ministry Reception, where wizards typically ask for information before going about their wizarding business. However, guests won’t find anyone working the reception booths today as the entire Ministry is busy preparing for the trial.
Dolores Umbridge’s Office
A glittering chandelier illuminates Dolores Umbridge’s former office, which is revealed to be just as over-the-top as the woman herself with its pink hues and ornate gold carvings throughout. Here, guests will meet Higgledy, Umbridge’s former house-elf, for the first time as she enthusiastically cleans out the office ahead of the trial.
Daily Prophet, Memos, and Other Wizarding Details
Guests should keep an eye out for a variety of details from the films while they venture through the Ministry, like the latest edition of the Daily Prophet, flocks of interdepartmental memos and even the belongings of some of their favorite characters from the films.
Magical Ministry Lift
Guests will board a magical, omnidirectional lift that seats up to 14 guests to travel even deeper through the British Ministry for the long-awaited trial of Dolores Umbridge. Adorned with vibrant red and gold accents, these lifts are unlike any ride vehicle ever created and will propel guests up, down, forward, backward, sideways and more throughout the Ministry – just like guests have seen in the films.

Once aboard the ride, guests will find themselves on a thrilling chase to catch Umbridge as she attempts to escape her trial – all while dodging attacks from the Death Eaters, rampaging creatures and more along the way. Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort opened back in May of 1991. The sister resort of Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, is themed with plenty of fun Mardi Gras fun all around the resort.
From the moment you step on to the property, you are welcomed with bright colors, fun music, and lots of ‘Nawlins energy! The buildings are themed to mimic the eclectic style of the French Quarter, with various styles of shutters and doors and wrought-iron railings. One of the best parts, almost all of the buildings are set behind the main building and have courtyard views or overlook the Sassagoula River.
Port Orleans Square is the main building of the resort, housing the resort’s check-in, food options like Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory and Scat Cat’s Club/Lounge, and the Jackson Square Gifts and Desires gift shop. In front of the building you will find one main area for the theme park, Disney Springs, and water park bus drop off and pick up.
This resort is also one of the best moderately priced hotels at Walt Disney World with 1,008 guest rooms. The resort has seven three-story guest-room buildings featuring light pink-and-blue coloring, wrought-iron filigree, shuttered windows, and old-fashioned iron lampposts. In keeping with the Crescent City theme, French Quarter is landscaped with magnolia trees and overgrown vines.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner This is the resort quick service location that is set up like your local mall food court. You can opt to mobile order-ahead and walk up to grab your food when it is ready, or order from a Cast Member at each station. There are several different stations that offer items like pizza, burgers, chicken fingers, pasta, sandwiches, turkey dinner, jambalaya, pot roast, and so on. For dessert, there is a nice assortment of ice cream sundaes and shakes prepared cakes and pastries, or you can go over to Scat Cat’s and grab a Mickey beignet. The breakfast menu has the usual combinations of eggs, potatoes, bacon, ham, Mickey waffles, pancakes, and biscuits, either alone or in various “platter” options. An omelet station serves veggie, egg white, and Western omelets. Kids’ breakfast choices are also offered.
Scat Cat’s Club
Bar Service &. Morning Gourmet Coffee Listen to New Orleans-style jazz while sipping on Southern-inspired cocktails, craft beers and wines. A limited selection of finger foods (wings, flatbreads, etc.) is also served along with a full bar and drinks menu. Live jazz musicians perform on Wednesday through Saturday nights. But, the best part of this location is the Mickey beignets that you can get for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anytime you’re craving something sweet! You can also get them with a shot of your favorite liquor! In the morning you can have some custom-blended Joffrey’s Coffee or tea to kick off your day! *I suggest starting your day with a beignet and coffee on your way to the bus stop.

Bar Service Three cheers to kicking back an ice-cold beer! Also, be sure to take in the scenic views of the Sassagoula River while here. Madri Grogs offers poolside specialty drinks and a limited selection of cold sandwiches and salads. It is also a fun place to come on a warm Florida evening to have a cold drink with friends while the kids cool off in the pool!
Pools, Grounds, & Recreation
The resort’s pool, Doubloon Lagoon, is located at the back, middle of the resort overlooking the Sassagoula River. The pool features a larger than life sea serpent slide with King Neptune sitting on top. One pool has a 95-foot water slide, known as the Doubloon Pool, as well as a children’s splash area complete with their own smaller water slide. There is also a large sized hot tub located near Doubloon Pool. The pool area sits directly behind the lobby and food court and the main pool features a water slide shaped like an oversized sea serpent.
A water-shooting cartoon alligator band is also located near the pool. Port Orleans French Quarter’s pool range in depth from around 3 feet 6 inches/1.1m to 4 feet 9 inches/1.4m. French Quarter’s pool is open every day, including during winter. The pools are heated to 82°F/28°C throughout the year. Pool hours vary seasonally, typically opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m. Infants and children in diapers are welcome in all pools, as long as they’re wearing swim diapers. Water wings are allowed at all Disney pools, and every pool has free life vests in a variety of sizes. All WDW pools include a chair-lift device that can lower guests in wheelchairs into the shallow end of the pool.
Colorful Mardi Gras themed cartoon alligators are scattered around the pool area. Mardi Grogs is the pool bar, offering a small cold food menu as well. A large kids’ splash area and a hot tub are located in the pool area as well. Buildings 2 and 5 have closest access to the pool.
Playground
A small playground set is located between Doubloon Pool and the hotel lobby. The set has two small slides and a couple of sections with a few steps for toddlers to go up and down. The entire area is covered in a springy, poured rubber surface.
Painting on de’ Bayou
Unwind while painting a Disney-inspired picture in an instructor-led paint class at Sassagoula Floatworks. This afternoon class is perfect for artists of all levels—beginners, experts and those somewhere in-between.

On the backside of the pool area against the river is a dock to access the Sassagoula River ferry boats, with access to Disney Springs. When returning from Disney Springs, be on the lookout for a purple-flagged boat to signify Port Orleans French Quarter. During slower times, boat service between both Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside and condensed down, so you’ll look for a purple and yellow flag.

The Dig Site is the main pool area at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The Lost City of Cibola pool features a Mayan ruins theme with a 50-foot pyramid at the center. There is a 123-foot-long waterslide that includes a spitting Jaguar spirit animal guaranteed to make it a wild ride!
The Dig Site includes the largest hot tub at the Walt Disney World Resort, with room for 22 guests. There is also a kiddie pool for younger guests. Check with a recreation host to find out about the daily family-friendly activities available at the pool. These may include games or themed pool parties.

Each room includes a dresser, a small table with two chairs, a nightstand with a telephone, a flat-panel TV, a coffee maker, a double sink with a vanity area, and a tub with a shower. Most of the rooms include two queen beds or one king bed and some also include a pull-down bed that is suitable for a child under 10 years of age.
In addition, there are themed Pirate rooms at this resort. These rooms are decked out with pirate gear including a pirate ship bed, crates for a dresser, and a barrel as a nightstand. Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides

Bring the whole family along as you cruise along the banks of the Sassagoula River on a surrey bike. These bikes are available to rent for $25, with 2-person and 4-person options available.

Magic Kingdom: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to the Magic Kingdom. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after park close.
EPCOT: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to EPCOT. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after park close.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after park close.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after park close.

Disney theme park & cruise fans alike are in for a massive treat, as Disney Cruise Line is set to debut a brand new jungle cruise-themed bar on their newest ship, the Disney Treasure! The bar, called “Skipper Society,” is Disney’s first Jungle Cruise-themed space outside of a Disney Park, & will make it’s grand debut on the Disney Treasure as she makes her maiden voyage next month on December 21st, 2024.

According to Disney Cruise Line, Skipper Society will “honor the trusty, dry-witted skippers that turn each voyage [at the theme parks] into a hilarious adventure.” The bar will be home to an array of unique food & drink options for guests to indulge in, highlighted by Jungle Cruise-themed craft cocktails & a soon-to-be-famous signature waffle treat (see below). Of course, guests can expect each item they order to be served with some classic Skipper humor that we all know & love.

Upon first entering the bar, guests can enjoy a medley of iconic Disney Parks music, including actual spiels from the Jungle Cruise attraction itself! The theming (& music) will pay homage to each iteration of the Jungle Cruise attraction around the world – Walt Disney World, Disneyland, & Tokyo Disneyland!
Once the ears have taken in the warm & nostalgic sounds of the Jungle Cruise, the eyes will immediately notice a “canopy of tropical foliage,” complete with outdoorsy-yet-comfy furnishings & colors that directly match the colors of the marquee Jungle Cruise attraction at Disneyland. Of course, guests will also have to be on the lookout for numerous references & homages to the famous family-friendly attraction throughout, from whimsical parrot-shaped chandeliers to postcards brought back from travels abroad.
